The course tools provide the instructor with several options for managing their course, such as editing the course description, course reuse, creating a blank course, and creating a test student. These tools will allow instructors to set up their courses when required without assistance from Information Services.

To create a new course from within an existing course, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Select Create Course from within the More menu within your course.

  • Enter the information for the new course.

  • Once the details have been confirmed, select Create Course.

  • Now, when you go to my courses, your course should appear. If you do not see your course, ensure that your view is set to either all courses or future.

To duplicate an existing course, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Select Duplicate Course from within the More menu.

  • Adjust the course full name and other details as required.

  • Once the details have been confirmed, select Duplicate course.

  • You will be redirected to a duplication status page which indicates the progress of the course being duplicated.

To edit the course description, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Select Settings from within the course menu.

  • Enter the course description as appropriate. The course description is always available to student, even when the course itself is not.

  • Once the details have been confirmed, select Save and display .

To create a test student for checking and testing within your course, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Select Create test student from within your User menu found at the top right of the page.

  • Make note of the new username and email address associated with the test student account. Email notifications sent to the email address listed will appear in your @uregina.ca mailbox.

  • Once you have reviewed the information and decided whether or not to enrol the test student in the current course, select Create. Details of the account username and password will then be delivered to your @uregina.ca email address.
